We were ferried ashore in the life boats |
Our first day ‘on the water’ was marvellous. It started with a stroll through the southernmost city in the world (according to Chileans) - Puerto Williams on Navarino Island where we had dropped anchor for the night (most of Terra del Fuego is made up of islands). Puerto Williams is also a naval base and the capital of the Chilean Antarctic Province.

There are Kingfishers and Humming birds in the area - amazing |

The reflections caught my eye |

I peeped over the fence at this lovely vegetable patch |
The Puerto is on the Beagle Channel. Lots of birds and boats and a little way further on there were lots of curious seals popping their heads up in the water as well as humpback whales.
We then headed for Hornos Island and the infamous Cape Horn at the meeting point between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
