Three bus routes gave us good coverage of the city |
One of the best things to do when you're in a new city - for us at least, is to hop on the Ho-Ho and that's exactly what we did. In fact we spent most of the day traveling around the 3 routes (twice in some cases) in and out of rain. My camera ran hot trying to get a taste of the city - it's a mish-mash of buildings, windows, doors, shutters, streets, people, alleyways and arches, towers and gutters, old and new, grand and impoverished. Many of the pix are slanted because they've been taken out the window as the bus has rushed passed. This post shows our morning explorations.

The curved balustrades are called goose-breast so curved for the ladies' large skirts |

The Church of San Cataldo with its orange domes is an example of Arab-Norman architecture; it was built in 1154 |

C16th Fountain of Shame features numerous statues and reliefs many nude. Many objected hence the name |

Aperol spritz became my favourite thirst quencher |
And here at Biga we stopped for lunch for a delicious fresh-cooked 'pizza' and a cool drink. More pix to come when we've rested .....
